Gebrüder Weiss Takes Over Tyrolean Freight Forwarders Kapeller
11th August 2017
Transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss has taken over Kapeller Internationale Spedition GmbH.
The Tyrolean company with a total of two locations in Innsbruck and Wörgl employs about 40 members of staff and is to be integrated into the Gebrüder Weiss network as a wholly-owned subsidiary. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. The company will continue to operate under the name ‘Kapeller Int. Spedition GmbH’ and appear on the market independently with the previous service portfolio.
Owner Gerhard Kapeller hands over the management of the company to Hannes Mayr, who has successfully been running the Gebrüder Weiss branch in Tyrol for eleven years. David Kapeller, the son of Gerhard Kapeller, will manage the branch office in Innsbruck.
“Kapeller has already been a reliable partner to Gebrüder Weiss for many years,” says Hannes Mayr. “The company is well-established on the market and finds itself in an economically sound position.”
The freight forwarding company founded in 1958 is expert in events, moving, warehouse and furniture logistics as well as art transports. Additionally, Kapeller realizes services for multimodal transports. “With this special logistics know-how we are expanding our product portfolio for our customers in the region,” states Mayr. Kapeller also has expert knowledge in the area of end-customer delivery (B2C) including assembly services.
